Olympia would never have achieved its unique importance in the Greek world and the fame that has lasted for thousands of years if nothing more than sacrifices to the gods had occurred there, or questions been put to the oracle.

Contests presented for the gods were sporting contests, and nowhere was the Greek awareness of the body, the aesthetic and ethical value of physical training, the enhancement of the individual through the matching of strength and agility, more splendidly apparent than at Oly

ON THE PODIUM is the FMS Olympia! It is our way of honoring the Olympionicae of academia. We will present a different scholar each month that has made, or is currently making significant contributions to the Arts and Letters of mythology, depth psychology, religious studies, archetypal psychology, or related fields.
